Family Planning
The Family Planning Program provides contraceptive services to teens and women of childbearing age.  The goals of the program are to provide services to optimize reproductive health by preventing untimely and unintended pregnancy and to improve the health of newborns.

Confidential Family Planning Services include:

  Contraceptive Education
  Sexually Transmitted Disease Education, Testing & Treatment
  HIV testing and counseling
  Anemia Screening
  Preconception Health Counseling
  Gynecologic Examinations by appointment
  Pregnancy Testing, Counseling & Referral
  Emergency Contraception (Morning After Pill)

COST:
Fees for services are determined on a sliding fee scale based on family income.  Insurance reimbursement is accepted.


 

EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTIVE PILLS (ECP)
Emergency Contraception pills may help prevent pregnancy if taken within 72 hours after unprotected sex. Also known as “the morning after pill”.
 

  Emergency Contraception is not the same as an abortion pill.  It does not work if you are already pregnant.
  If ECP is taken within 72 hours after an act of unprotected intercourse, the pregnancy rate is less than 2 percent.


 

WHO SHOULD TAKE ECP’s?
Any woman who has had sex within the last three days and:
 

  did not use any birth control; or
  the condom broke or came off; or
  has missed 2 or more birth control pills in a row

 
HOW DO I GET THE ECP?
